Developing Your Teaching Dossier Workshop and Support Group
Tuesday, May 29, 2007, HHB 128
11:30 AM ~ 1:30 PM [light lunch provided]
Presenter: Teresa Dawson, Director, Learning and Teaching Centre
This workshop is a repeat of the workshop that was held on March 21, 2007. We are offering this again, by request. Developing your teaching dossier is the most effective way to document your teaching for reappointment, tenure and promotion, as well as for winning awards. The most important part of the dossier is the narrative statement that guides the reader through the supporting documentary evidence. This workshop will discuss the role of the teaching dossier in the assessment process at UVic, assist you in developing your narrative, and outline an effective structure for organizing your materials. Also useful for graduate students who plan to apply for teaching jobs!
Support Group
Once you have started assembling your dossier you are invited to participate in a group that will meet regularly during the summer to provide motivation, feedback and support to members. Joining this collegial group will allow you to have your dossier ready for the 2007-08 year in a low-stress environment. To join please email ltc@uvic.ca.
Open to all those who are involved in instruction
